Sara J. Brennan
Associate Attorney

Sara practices in the areas of land use, municipal, and water law. Her experience working in both the public and private sectors allows her to better serve her clients as they navigate whatever complex legal issues they may face.

Sara grew up in Anacortes and later attended Dartmouth College. After graduating in 2013, Sara spent two years working with the Northwest Clean Air Agency in Mount Vernon focusing on environmental compliance issues. She is a 2018 graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law. During her time at Oregon, she worked for various government entities, including the Oregon Department of Justice and the City of Seattle.

Prior to joining Carmichael Clark, Sara clerked for the Honorable David Mannheimer and the Honorable Bethany Harbison on the Court of Appeals for the State of Alaska. Most recently, Sara worked for a firm in Portland, where she gained a wealth of experience in the land use and real estate development arena, working on everything from large scale transportation projects to permits for individual property owners.

When not working you can find Sara enjoying everything Bellingham has to offer—from hiking the trails to fishing the river or spending a day out in the San Juan Islands. She counts herself lucky to call this area home once again and serve the people of this community.
